Monsud S.p.A., in partnership with Ansaldo Nucleare, has signed a contract with Fusion for Energy (F4E), the European Union organization managing Europe’s contribution to ITER, for the emergency electrical power distribution system. The value of the entire contract is 105 million EUR over a period of five years. This contract covers the design, construction, testing and commissioning of the system and the respective buildings.
The emergency electricity distribution system will provide power to systems and components whose operation ensures that ITER, the biggest fusion device, can be kept in a safe mode in the event of a loss of offsite power and/or external grid disruption.
